> Accountant

Nikkei Canada Marketing Ltd. is a marketing and distribution company dedicated to introducing superior and innovative health and food products. Located in Richmond, BC, we are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team. The Accountant provides leadership and coordination of Company financial reporting and ensures accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accountant is also responsible for all holding and group companies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews monthly GL reconciliation including all major balance sheet accounts (A/R, A/P, fixed assets, prepayments)
  • Prepares, directs and coordinates financial reporting and cash flow for five group companies
  • Prepares draft financial statements and consolidation
  • Prepares budgeting and management reports
  • Prepares and reviews product costings
  • Reviews expense coding for employee reimbursements, utilities, and direct bill payments
  • Prepares quarterly sales tax returns (GST/HST), monthly payroll source deduction returns (Income Tax, CPP, EI), T4 and other government filings
  • Completes year end working papers
  • Leads and mentors the company Bookkeeper
  • Cross-trained to work as a back-up for Bookkeeper
  • Reviews Financial Statements for five group companies
  • Assists with financial audit and provide information for and assistant to external auditor
  • Provides guidance, assistance and support for periodic physical inventory counts
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of financial close and reporting experience
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Efficient with Microsoft Excel and Access, strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting including GAAP
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting or similar accounting reporting systems
  • Efficient with MS Office especially Excel and Access
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; strong attention to detail; effective communication skills
  • Fluent in Cantonese and English

> Graphic Designer

Nikkei Canada Marketing Ltd. is a marketing and distribution company dedicated to introducing superior and innovative health and food products. Located in Richmond, BC, we are seeking a full-time Graphic Designer to join our team. The Graphic Designer is responsible for providing scheduled support to marketing teams and reports to the Business Development Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce graphic design for various initiatives including media print and promotional marketing materials for both English and Chinese-speaking audience
  • Produce web designs, which includes interface design, web-ready graphics, etc for various brands
  • Produce design for all product packaging
  • Edit existing work files
  • Convert various types of files for print
  • Provide sample layouts with direction from teams

Requirements:

  • At least one year of practical graphic design experience
  • University degree in graphic design or equivalent
  • Proficient in design software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
  • Knowledge in color theory, typography, and commercial design
  • Fluency in English (conversational, reading and writing)
  • Fluency in Chinese (reading and writing)
  • Strong PC and Internet skills, including knowledge of LibreOffice
